Precious Nti Boakye Wins Essential Impact’s Debut Essay Competition

The highly anticipated grand finale of the "My Neighbourhood, My Responsibility: One Week as a Community Leader" essay competition took place on September 30, 2026. Hosted at the premises of SIMS International School in Ablekuma, the event brought together young minds, educators, and community members to celebrate youth leadership and civic responsibility.

The competition culminated in an exciting head-to-head presentation between the top finalists from SIMS International School and HI-5 International School, all vying for the grand prize of a laptop. Additional prizes included certificates of participation, formal citations, and a donation of storybooks to enrich the participating schools' libraries. Two other outstanding finalists—Chriselda Nortey Yebuah (JHS 1, Excellent Golden Child) and Stephanie Ewurabena Andam (Anbell School, Awoshie)—were also recognized for their top-tier submissions, though they were unable to attend the final event.

 Empowering Grassroots Leaders

The program commenced with an opening prayer and an introduction to the organizing body, the Essential Life Impact Foundation.

Essential Life Impact Foundation is a community-first non-governmental organization dedicated to driving sustainable social development, empowering youth, and supporting vulnerable communities through actionable education, agriculture, and civic initiatives. Grounded in the conviction that lasting transformation begins at the local level, the foundation equips young individuals with the resources, knowledge, and platforms necessary to lead change within their localities.

 The Final Pitch

The presentation phase required the finalists to defend their essay concepts before a distinguished three-member panel of judges: Mr. Samuel Aidoo, Madam Gifty, and Mr. Samuel Agbenyah. Submissions were evaluated based on a rigorous set of criteria established by the foundation.

 * Samuella D. Avisey (Primary 6 at the time of submission) opened the presentations, delivering a compelling defense of her project and earning a strong final score of 75%.

 * Precious Nti Boakye (JHS 2) followed with her presentation, delivering an insightful, articulate vision of youth-led community governance that scored 79%.

Announcing the Champion

With the judges' scores finalized, Precious Nti Boakye was officially declared the winner of the essay competition. She was awarded the grand prize of a laptop alongside a certificate of achievement. Samuella Avisey was also honored with a certificate for her exceptional performance and second-place finish.

The event concluded with some words from the Advisory Board Chairman, who commended the students for their vision and urged them to continue acting as catalysts for positive change in their communities. With a closing remark from Mr Samuel Agbenyah, the event came to an end.
